  • First female officer to serve as Officer-in-Charge of the Movement Report Center, Staff, commander-in-Chief, Atlantic Fleet at Norfolk, Virginia
  • First female officer of any of the armed services to be assigned to the position as Branch Chief, Message Processing Branch, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff 
  • First African American female office to attend Naval War College
  • First African American female to have a command within the Naval Telecommunications Command
  • First African American female line officer to attain rank of Commander and Captain
  • Wears the Defense Meritorious Service Medal Joint Commendation Medal and the National Defense Medal
  • Retired from military service January 1, 1992
