Joe Brown will delve into the development of the timber trade, highlighting notable "firsts" in Mississippi that originated right here in our county. Discover how the railroad's completion ignited transformative growth in the industry. He'll also examine the diverse methods employed to transport timber and the intriguing practice of using company currency at the company store. Tales about the largest pine ever cut in Mississippi and the 'Mississippi' locomotive, a pioneering piece of our state's history will be shared. Join us on this journey through time!
