Purpose of Meeting

Bridging the wealth gap and exposing children to books about smart financial decisions, The Magnolia Literacy Project is hosting a summer reading club (ages 4-9). The first event will be a celebration of Juneteenth, where children will learn about the history of the holiday and financial freedom as one way of honoring legacy. Readings will include Taquoya McConnico’s No Debt Debbie; C.M. Harris’ A Penny in My Pocket; Daymond John’s Little Daymond Learns to Earn; Monica Eaton’s Money Plan; Ashton McCants’ Daddy, Can You Teach Me About Money?; and Dipo Adesina’s & Faithful Adesina’s Finance 101 For Kids: The ABC of Money. A total of three workshops will take place on Saturdays at 10:00-11:30 A.M. The dates are June 17, July 8, July 22. This event is free! Guests must RSVP five days before each date by contacting LaWanda Dickens at: info@magnolialiteracyproject.org.
