GET A CLUE @ YOUR LIBRARY! Magicians! Puppets! Plays! Firemen! Policemen! Meterologist! Crafts! Games! Fun! Books & More! Children in all five libraries have had an exciting and busy summer at their public library. A vast assortment of books and audios have been enjoyed by the children. Busy librarians have provided programming which includes guests, stories, games, crafts and refreshments. Children who have read 10 or more books will receive certificates at the final Summer Reading Program party in each library. Many thanks to all the guest speakers and contributors who made the summer such a success. For a complete list, please see the Children's Page.

NEW COMPUTERS! Thanks to three (count them!) -- three --2007 Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grants, all branches of the Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin Regional Library are receiving new computers, wireless systems, and a new server. This will provide faster access and new software for patrons using library computers as well as providing wireless access for patrons who wish to use their own laptops in the library. The 'Staying Connected' grants are administered by the Mississippi Library Commission and are providing replacement equipment for computers first placed in Mississippi libraries in 1999. The goal of the program is to provide technology access to citizens in underserved areas of the United States who may not have access to computers. Thanks, Bill and Melinda Gates!
