This is a compiled name index of the funeral home records copied by Lavada Smith and Mable Lofton Stancil. The records were taken from handwritten records at Brookhaven Funeral Home (1976-1985) and Hartman-Henderson (now Harrigill) Funeral Home (1936-1956; 1961-1965; 1972-1972; 1973-1977 (new); 1989-1992) in Brookhaven, MS. Please bear in mind that these are handwritten short entries taken from the handwritten funeral home records and therefore subject to misspelling.

Each short entry has the deceased's name, spouse's name, father's and mother's names (if available), date of death, cemetery, place of birth if known. All names are indexed whether deceased or not at the time of record (spouse, father, mother). The Lincoln County Public Library has these short entries in book form; for complete records contact the funeral home or state records office. This serves merely as a reference tool. Also, this list includes scattered years; new years will be added as time permits. Currently, there are 27,000+ entries in the index.
