Series VIII: Identified Family Groups |
|||||||||||||
| 321 photographs and other items | |||||||||||||
| Family group identifications have been based on the information available. These identifications have been made in 3 ways. 1st - the name on the envelope or photograph, when available. Unfortunately the groups may not be identified by the actual name of the people in the family. For example, the names on the envelopes were normally the names of the person paying for the pictures, not necessarily, the name of the person(s) in the photographs. Names all persons in a family, including married daughters, need to be checked when locating a specific group. 2nd - the name of the oldest person/people in the group when known. In some cases the only husband's name was found. 3rd - the name of any person in the group identified. | |||||||||||||

| Walter Furman Turnbough, born in Brookhaven, Ms. 1891, was the son of W. M. and Zula (Schwen) Turnbough. He attended Castle Heights Military Academy, returned to Brookhaven and entered the livestock business with his father. By 1926 he was dealing in horses and mules for himself, and developed extensive farming operations in the area. Walter Furman was always active in civic affairs and was on the Board of Supervisors from 1932 until his death in 1936.
